Board Meeting Minutes

Jeff Lundquist called the meeting to order at 11:30 a.m. Attendance: 21 Introductions Adoption/Amendment of Agenda: Marlene Young moved to approve the agenda, Jeff Lundquist second the motion. Motion carried. Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes: Marlene Young made a motion to accept the minutes of the June 14th meeting. Jeff Lundquist seconds the motion. Motion carried. Correspondence: A lot of junk mail New Businesses in the Community: Arts & Crafts store Jeff will get info to Don Nelson. Treasurers Report: Jeff Burkhardt presented the report. Questioned the large amount listed for M&M, cost is going up each year with insurance & fuel. Kelly Kirchner made a motion to accept the treasurers report, Derek Groth seconds the motion. Motion carries. Committee Reports: A. Membership Committee No Report B. Ambassador Committee No Report. C. Business Expo No Report. D. All-City Garage Sale No Report. E. Chili Cook-off No Report. F. Queens Committee 18 great candidates this year. New Royalty: Miss Annandale is Lindsay Adams, Annandale Princesses are Kayla Holmberg & Holly Regnier. They have already had parades in Monticello & Litchfield. G. Fourth of July Committee - Sound system in park was not working. More information to come on possible clown camp/show for 2007 the week of 4th of July. A longer celebration is scheduled for next year - June 29 July 4th.- H. Arts and Crafts Karen is looking for 2 volunteers for Aug. 11 & 12th. I. Golf Tournament The date has been set for Wednesday, August 2nd at Southbrook Golf Club. Forms have been mailed - 16 registered so far. No chamber meeting in August due to golf tournament. J. Halloween No Report K. Community Christmas No Report L. Social Committee No Report M. Chamber Map No Report. N. Kiosk No Report. Old Business Culpepper Marriweather Circus The date has been set for Tuesday, July 25th. Presenting lions & tigers this year. 2 shows have been scheduled 5pm and 7:30pm. We will need 4 ticket takers 2 for each show. Help is needed to distribute pre-sold tickets. A clown will be making appearances around Annandale - at The Learning Tree, Kids Club & Kidville on July 18th from 1:00-3:30 p.m. New Business Recreation Facilities: Director of Community Education; Eric Erlandson presented potential recreational complex for the city of Annandale. This would be a joint venture between the Annandale School District & the City of Annandale. Questions and discussion followed. 4th of July Luncheon for visiting Royalty: Request was made by Marlene Young (Queens Committee) for $1,000 to offset cost of luncheon on the 4th. A motion was made by Kelly Kirchner, second by Jim to approve $1,000 one time transfer to queens committee, knowing that the budget will be reviewed by chamber board in the future. With amendment by Jeff Lundquist and second by Mike Zieska. Request for letter of support from Chamber Rick Rean would like a letter of recommendation/support to go to Wright County for an ATV track he would like to set up for Fall & Spring. Board members will discuss topic with more information. Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Mental Hospital on July 28th at 10:00 a.m.
