Board Meeting Minutes

April 9, 2003, 11:30 AM

Lake Center Bar & Grill, Annandale  MN

 

 

President Marlene Young called the meeting to order at 11:30 AM.

Attendance:   27 Members – Super Great!!!

 

Adoption / Amendment of agenda: 

Jeff Burkhardt made a motion to accept agenda, Charlene Donnelly 2nd the motion. Motion carried.

 

Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes:

Motion made by Don Nelson to approve minutes from the March 12th meeting, Jon Ferrell 2nd the motion.  Motion carried

 

New Business in the Community: Black Dog Realty, Appraisals Inspections of Minnesota, Gunnerson Construction, & Windscapes

 

Ambassador’s Committee:  A group of 30 chamber members were at the formal ribbon cutting ceremony at Blue Waters Family Restaurant.

                                                        

Correspondence:  A letter from Pioneer Park requesting a donation for orange juice for their pancake breakfast on Sunday, April 13th.   A motion was made to donate $50 by Don Nelson, Derek Groth 2nd the motion.  Motion carried.

 

Treasurer’s Report:  Report given by Jeff Burkhardt.   Motion made by Derek Groth to accept treasurer’s report,  Charlene Donnelly 2nd the motion.

 

Committee Reports:

7.A    Membership Committee

 As of the meeting date we have 157 paid members.       

7.B    Business Expo

          Expo committee needs help with set-up on Friday, April 11.  108 booths are in the 

          Expo as of the meeting.   We will be using golf-carts this year to help with     

          transfering of  vendors and spectators to their cars.  Looking forward to a good 

          day at the EXPO.                                

7.C    All City Garage Sale

          Saturday, May 3rd, 2003.  Registration forms are out, only 10 turned in so far.

7.D    Queen’s Committee

There are13 candidates for the Annandale Ambassador Program.  Six of the candidates will be working the Expo with the current reigning Ambassadors.  The Annandale ambassador Gala will be held Friday, June 27th.

 

       

7.E     Fourth of July Committee

Dates for the 4th of July celebration is July 2nd thru 6th.   All events for the week-end are moving along smoothly. There are 8 tentative school bands.  Again the letters for the parade entries will be out soon.   If you don’t want to be part of the parade, donations are welcome.

7.F     Arts and Crafts

           Date is August 9th.  This year it will be held at the Annandale High School.   The

            high school inside area is full already with vendors.

7.G    Golf Tournament

           An 18- hole Annandale Chamber of Commence Golf Tournament will be held   

           July 30th at Four Seasons Southbrook Golf Course.   Dinner will be held after the       

           golf tournament.

7.H    Community Christmas

No report.

7.I      Social Committee

           No report.

                  

 8.0    Old Business:

Map update:  Map was put on hold to make sure we had all new businesses and everything in place.  Map will be ready for businesses when summer people start coming back in the area.

           Kioski:   A Boy Scout for his Eagle Project will be in charge of repairing & 

           up-dating the kioski.  Anyone with new or old ideas should contact Steve 

           Bergesch.

           Chili Cook-Off:  Saturday, May 24th will be the date for this fun adventure for the

           Businesses of Annandale.   Registrations forms will be sent out soon.  There will   

           be a Public Award and a Judge Award.

           Circus:  Coming to Annandale on Sunday, August 3rd

9.0     New Business:

10.     Upcoming Events/Meetings

           Business Expo – April 12, 2003 – 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM

           All City Garage Sale – May 3rd, 2003

           Next meeting:  May 14th, 11:30 AM at Blue Waters Family Restaurant

          Don Nelson made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Steve Bergesch 2nd the   

          motion.  Motion carried.
