Dear Annandale Area Chamber of Commerce, Inc. Member:

 

It is hard to believe, but the Fourth of July is just around the corner.  This year will mark our 122nd Fourth of July Celebration. One of the biggest draws to our community throughout the entire year is the Fourth of July Parade. We all can and should feel a sense of pride to have the longest consecutive running (and in our opinion the best) parade in the state that honors the birth of our great nation.

 

This year the parade will commence promptly at 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 4, 2011. 

 

Our committee has been working for several months and has lined up bands from Waconia, Foley, Eden Valley Jr. High  and of course our own Annandale Jr. High and Sr. High School Drum Line.  We hope to confirm a few more in the coming month. In addition to the marching bands, we have lined up several entertaining units and visiting royalty floats.

 

NOW, it’s time to add our local touch!  We need your help to continue this great tradition.  Specifically units such as colorful floats, clowns or musical groups make for an entertaining parade.  If you are willing to enter a unit in our parade, please complete the enclosed entry form and return it as soon as possible.  Entries must be received by 3:00 P.M. Friday, June 10.  We will send out parade line-up information by Friday, June 24th. 

 

Obviously, not everyone can or is willing to enter a unit into the parade.  BUT, you can still help continue this Annandale institution.  Each year many businesses give cash donations to be used to help offset the costs associated with the parade.  Marching bands in school districts around the state depend on parade prize money to sustain themselves.  Please consider giving generously.  Let’s keep these bands coming back to Annandale year after year.  We will accept any amount you are willing to contribute; however, donations of $50 or more will get your name listed as a parade sponsor.  Donations of $175 or more will allow you to be listed as a band sponsor.  Considering 10,000 programs are distributed during the parade, you would be hard pressed to find more direct or cheaper advertising.  In order to be listed on the program, you must get your donations in before Friday, June 17th.  You may mail them to 460 Elm Street East, Annandale, MN  55302 or e mail me at denise.schmidt@starbank.net.
